in Priddy’s Hard, Gosport, Hampshire
After 38 years associated with the Antiques trade, Justin Newman set up Antiques Repair Shop in Cooperage Green, Royal Clarence Yard, Gosport. Within 3 years, the business has sufficiently grown to move into Building 307, Priddy’s Hard sited at the Old Royal Naval Armament Depot next to Explosion Museum in Gosport.
Starting his career in 1986 as an Antique Restorer, Justin’s career includes working for Sotheby’s Fine Art Auctions as a Restorer and Polisher, Richard Higgins Conservation where he specialised in Early English clock cases and barometers, and Charles Manners & Co across the USA replicating panelled rooms and libraries in the manner of the eminent 18th century architect Robert Adam.
Between 2005-2020, Justin had been working for the Royal Household and St Georges College as Senior Conservator based at Windsor Castle where he gained much experience in this field.
Justin is also a member of the British Watch and Clockmakers Guild.
RESTORATION AND CONSERVATION PROCESS
Preferably items are brought to the workshop in Priddy’s Hard but for a fee, I can collect and deliver.
A visit to your home can be arranged if you would like a quotation (free within the Gosport vicinity) but feel free to come to the workshop and discuss the options and services available. No appointment is necessary but a call beforehand would be preferable to ensure that I am available.
Antiques Repair Shop is located in the same compound as the Explosion Museum, in Building 307 behind the Conservation Office.
For further information, please call Justin on 07393 234088 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
