After 38 years associated with the trade, Justin Newman set up Antiques Repair Shop to specialise in repairs, restoration and conservation of modern and antique furniture. With a workshop located in Priddy’s Hard, Justin covers all Hampshire areas between Gosport, Fareham, Portsmouth, Southampton and Winchester.

Restoration and Conservation Services include:

  • Antique Clocks and Barometers
  • Antique Coffee, Side or Dining Tables
  • Antique Cabinets, Chests and Sideboards
  • Antique Desks and Chairs
  • Wood Panelling, Doors and Staircases

Preferably items are brought to the workshop but for a fee,  I can collect and deliver. The workshop is located in the same compound as Explosion Museum, in Building 307 behind the Conservation Office.

Home visits can be arranged if you would like a quotation (free within the Gosport area) but feel free to come to the workshop and discuss the options and services available. No appointment is necessary but a call beforehand would ensure that I am available.

Since 1986, Justin’s career as an Antique Restorer includes:

  • Windsor Castle Royal Household and St Georges College – Senior Conservator
  • Sotheby’s Fine Art Auctions – Restorer and Polisher
  • Richard Higgins Conservation – Early English clock cases and barometers
  • Charles Manners & Co – replicating panelled rooms and libraries across the USA in the manner of the 18th century architect Robert Adam
